While the nation’s core highways remain operational—reserved exclusively for freight shipping via autonomous trucks—all other passenger roadways have disappeared in favor of their more efficient airway equivalents. 

 

Liam Picker, a burgeoning NY artist, faces a major crossroad when his dreams for a gallery exhibition showcasing his “final frontier” landscapes seem just out of reach. When a national disaster suddenly renders the nation’s few remaining highways inoperable, Liam returns both to his midwestern roots and behind the wheel of his late father’s AI-assisted truck to fulfill a lucrative government trucking contract. Liam’s trek across the once mundane roads of a forgotten era proves a refreshing source of artistic inspiration and an invaluable pathway for self-discovery.
